Your phone number is essential. When GuardLayer detects a potential threat, we send you an SMS immediately — even if you're not near a computer. Make sure this is a number you always have with you.

Add each child you want GuardLayer to protect. You can add more later. We need their age to calibrate our detection — grooming patterns vary significantly by age group.

How should GuardLayer handle recordings?

GuardLayer monitors conversations in real time. You decide what happens to recordings. You can change this setting at any time from your dashboard.

Important: Unflagged audio is always deleted within 60 seconds of a conversation ending — regardless of which option you choose. Only flagged conversations are ever stored.

Flagged recordings only — 90 day auto-delete

If GuardLayer detects a safety concern, that conversation is stored securely for 90 days then automatically deleted. If you choose to report to authorities, deletion is suspended for that recording only until they confirm receipt.

Recommended

Flagged recordings — keep until I delete

Flagged recordings are stored until you manually delete them from your dashboard. Useful if you have an active concern or pending police referral.

Maximum evidence retention

No recordings stored

GuardLayer still monitors and alerts you in real time, but stores no audio or transcripts. You will receive alerts but cannot review the conversation or refer it to authorities with evidence.

Alert sensitivity

How sensitive should GuardLayer be? Higher sensitivity catches more potential threats but may send more alerts requiring your review.

Standard

Flags clear grooming patterns and direct requests for personal information. Typical: 0-2 alerts per month for most children.

Enhanced (recommended)

Also flags early-stage grooming signals — unusual trust-building, age-appropriate questions, isolation attempts.

Recommended for under-13s

Maximum

Flags any unusual conversation patterns. Higher alert volume — best for parents with specific concerns about a particular contact.
